Inactivity

I’ve noticed an incredible decrease in 10 meter activity since the latest ARRL contest concluded (December 2013). Since I am new to Amateur Radio DX (not 11 meter), I was thinking this is probably the norm. Just an observation based on typical human psychology really, but I would assume it’s normal for the airwaves to be cleaned out as it is city streets on the following weekend of a major festival. People seem to take a break (evidently a long break as they contest was two weeks ago!) from interaction in a neighborhood after a festival concludes. I may have to look into this a bit more to size-up my DXing in the future. Anyway, just thought I would post my observation so I can reflect back at a later date.
